Output loss and inconsistent energy
On flashlamp-pumped systems like Clarity and Spectra, gradual energy loss usually means an aging flashlamp, contaminated optics, or a cooling loop that isn't holding the laser head at temperature. On the eCO2, output drift more often points to the RF power supply or beam-delivery alignment.
Measuring delivered energy against spec at several settings separates a source problem from a delivery problem before any part is ordered.
Cooling and water-flow alarms
Flow and temperature alarms are frequently caused by old coolant, a clogged deionizing filter, or a weak pump, not a failed chiller. A coolant and filter service fixes a large share of these calls.
Handpiece and delivery faults
- Handpiece not recognized: connector wear, damaged cable, or ID circuit fault
- Spot size or pattern errors on scanning handpieces
- Genius RF tip recognition or impedance errors
- Articulated arm misalignment on the eCO2 causing uneven treatment
Startup and self-test errors
Self-test failures usually trace to an interlock, a high-voltage charging fault, or a sensor reading out of range. Note the exact code and the point in warm-up where it appears; that alone narrows the diagnosis a lot.
